DESCRIPTION:Generations of Irish in Boston have contributed to the fabric of the city’s life in business\, government\, and the church.  Anthony Sammarco will present an illustrated lecture on “The Boston Irish.” He will explore the 19th and 20th century people and institutions that were founded by and for the Irish immigrants and their descendants.\nThe afternoon will start with music by Declan Houton of Devri.\nTickets for this event are:\n$10.00 per person for Society members\n$15.00 per person for non-members\nReservations are recommended (see below). DESCRIPTION:Join the Scituate Historical Society for this informative presentation and demonstration of celtic strength culture featuring David Keohan aka “Indiana Stones” from Waterford\, Ireland and Director Will Hutchby of “Made of Stone” the hit RTE Documentary on Irish stone lifting. Attendees of all ages are welcome to attempt to lift a cloch ban\, an official 254 lb lifting stone freighted from Ireland to Boston in 2025. $10 suggested event donation. Reservations are recommended. Tickets may not be available at the door. Cash bar with beer provided by Irish Brewing Boston.
