The Cause:

Closing the Gap Foundation is a national 501(c)3 organization founded in 2016 by two close friends from Scituate, MA. Co-Founders, Matthew Gavis and Jake Reynolds started the foundation to advocate for the very deserving Cystic Fibrosis (CF) community, spread awareness and alleviate the individuals and families impacted by the disease. The dedication for the cause hits very close to home. At a very young age Jake was diagnosed with CF. Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic, genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. So, as you can imagine, excessive exercise and sports is something this community often has a hard time safely participating in. However, avoiding sports was never an option for Jake, rather it required extra dedication and hard work. Jakes has never let the disease define him and has gone on to excel as a record-breaking athlete and All-American D3 lacrosse goalie at Springfield College, and most recently ran the Boston Marathon. It is safe to say Jake continues to define all odds and make a positive impact on the CF community.

In recent years due to medical advancements, there have been great strides taken to improve the daily lifestyle and overall life expectancy of those diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Closing the Gap Foundation alone has raised over $300k in total fundraising and will continue to grow its impact with the help of its friends, families, and sponsors.

The Event:

The organization has gained considerable momentum over the past 10 years, becoming 501(c)3 certified in 2020. With this designation, the foundation has sought to make an even greater impact in the Greater Boston area and East Coast. The 10th Annual Closing the Gap golf tournament is an opportunity to increase the organization’s presence and active supporters. Event Details: The Closing the Gap 10th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at the Scituate Country Club (91 Driftway, Scituate, MA.) on June 27th, from 1:00-10:00 PM. The event includes a buffet dinner, raffle, silent auction, and live music.  Total capacity is ~100 attendees.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

For the event we are opening up opportunities for Corporate Sponsors to help contribute to the impact of the event. While Closing the Gap has seen amazing growth and momentum over the 10 years, having the support from reliable and impactful companies in the area will continue to increase the credibility and reach of the foundation. This year’s sponsorship opportunity consists of a $500 golf hole sponsorship.  With this investment, your company’s name and logo will be displayed on a yard sign at one of the course tee boxes.  We are also open to donation items that guests can bid on throughout the event’s silent auction or raffle.
