A perfect spot for a bucolic stroll, Driftway Park spans 334 acres of conservation land along the Herring River. This rare habitat combines sandy stretches, coastal salt marshes, and open fields, making it an important stop for migratory birds along the Atlantic Flyway. Note also the fascinating flora of Driftway Park such as glasswort, sea lavender, saltmeadow cordgrass, little bluestem, pussy willow, wooly beach heather, highbush blueberry, seaside goldenrod, northern bayberry, eastern red cedar, American holly, quaking aspen, red maple, and northern red oak. Be sure to catch the view from Lookout Hill, the park’s high point.
