In October, 2022, construction crews removed the 92-year-old lantern room from the top of the historic Scituate Lighthouse in order to prepare for restoration. The project is being funded by the Scituate Historical Society through a grant of $200,000 from the Massachusetts Cultural Commission as well as from $2M of CPC funds approved at the April 2022 Town Meeting.
